OUR Creative WORKFLOW

The crucial first step in our process is taking a brief to understand the audience and the business outcomes you want.

Once we know these, we quickly plan a launch-pad site and get it up and running.

Then we proceed in a series of small steps to add functionality to the initial site, testing the changes and measuring the overall effectiveness with users.

With this real-world data, we work with your staff and executives, so that together, we can make the next development decision based on the facts we have gathered.

NOT FOR PROFIT SUPPORT

One of the charities we support is a Driver Awareness course provided for Year 11 students in public and private schools.  We needed a bold, impactful design aimed primarily at teachers and school administrators to first of all capture their attention and then provide useful information to help them make a decision to teach the course in their high school.

SMALL BUSINESS WEBSITES

Website to support a marketing campaign

Many startup businesses require an initial sales campaign to make their presence felt in the marketplace.

This website is for a corporate writer and was designed to support other marketing channels like emails, flyers, cold calling and social media.

Many potential customers will open up your website during an initial sales call from you, just to confirm who you are. They will often judge your credibility and reputation based on the information on your website, and on its quality and ease of use.

Presentations

USE BOTH FACTS & EMOTION

There is a lot at stake in a marketing presentation. It’s a unique opportunity to convey your point of view to a customer with power and precision.

Your message needs to be communicated in at least two ways:

  • Rationally . . . using hard facts.
  • Emotionally . . . using context messages.

Anywhere. Any time. And every time . . . Digital Streams helps you to present your business story effectively, using both facts and emotions.

Other Works

Digital Streams’ experienced staff produce all manner of digital communications, from writing strategic proposals to websites, brochures and magazine, email newsletters, video production and business management software.  Here are some samples:

BUSINESS APPLICATIONS

digital-streams-excel-hell

The road to Excel Hell is paved with good intentions.

Excel spreadsheets start small, become useful, get added to, are copied, edited and stored locally, shared via email, become part of a spiderweb of linked data; and finally are consolidated by a helpful spreadsheet guru who makes them sing and dance, but then promptly leaves the company.

Research shows that 95% of companies use Excel for reporting.  Forbes says that nine out of every ten spreadsheets contain a significant programming error. And in the US, JP Morgan reported that a staggering 8 billion dollars were lost due to errors in formulas or with cut and paste errors.

Keeping all of your data, documents and processes in a central repository is a key to avoiding those problems. There are many workflow applications online and many times, these work very well out of the box.

Digital Streams can advise you on how to adapt these to streamline your business and put you in control of your financial and operational data.

Or we can develop a system for you, precisely tailored to your unique needs.

Our workflow solutions have helped customers get a minute-by-minute overview of their business operations while acting as the “source of truth” for all operational and reporting data.

Here is what can be done:

  • Manage your customer information and sales pipeline.
  • Create projects, save budget spreadsheets and assign resources to tasks.
  • Monitor progress by hours worked, results produced and budget commitments.
  • Send automated emails and notifications when assigning work, creating purchase orders, accepting reports and documentation.
  • Accept supplier invoices against purchase orders and job numbers, and when they are approved, upload them directly to your online accounting system.
  • Monitor staff work hours, resource utilisation, estimates to complete and job yield in real-time and get warning notification if things are going out of specification.
scriptis

This custom FileMaker database was developed as a desktop application for both Macs and PCs. All staff connect to a central database, so they all share the same information. Access and security are straightforward to control, so managers get their view of the application, while sales and production teams can only see data that they need to perform their duties.

Case Study
News Publication System

The Daily Star Concept

This was an integrated development of a community newspaper site. Digital Streams developed a web-portal using the highly robust .NET DNN platform that allowed for a very flexible layout and tight editorial workflow.

This was coupled with a weekly print run of a tabloid newspaper, laid-out with Adobe InDesign using the website content management system.

Local advertising sales were managed by a bespoke Filemaker Pro database system.

daily-star

The online version of the community newspaper used a highly modified DNN publication framework and included real-estate listings, local business directories, clubs and associations as well as an index of local artists and a video library of local news stories.

The printed version of the newspaper was published weekly.  It was laid-out in Adobe InDesign and printed on a web-offset press in tabloid format.
